A first-hand account of a young scholar who worked for three months in a German factory. Documenting his working conditions and experiences inside the factory, the author explores various facets of his fellow laborers' social, political, educational, and religious views. In publishing these accounts, the author sheds light on the harsh conditions faced by the working class population of the late 19th century.
UPDATE: In January 2016 the Collections Committee decided that this book shall permanently remain in our collection due to its rarity and value. It should never be removed or considered for de-accession.
