This scrapbook, assembled by Alice Marcoux, is labeled 5 of 8, contains newsclippings of various events happening throughout the area circa 1959 through 1962. Some of the pictures & news items to be found are: a picture of the old post office at the corner of Essex & Broadway; a fire at the Round Robin, a popular cocktail lounge on Essex St.; the Ballroom at Canobie Lake Park; a picture of Main Street, Andover; pictures and articles of the Pemberton Mill disaster and the flood of 1936. Also an article relating to the Riley Playstead in So. Lawrence being an abandoned area. On May 3, 1962 an article was published in the Eagle Tribune telling of the Marist Brothers in Tribute to their Jubilarians . The opening of a new supermarket, DeMoulas, at Essex Plaza in Lawrence; the closing of Sutton's Mill in North Andover; Robert Frost attending the dedication of the Frost School, named for him.
