This textile is a black hat that was originally a part of a masonic uniform. It is circular with a small leather brim. The front of the hat has a red and gold passion cross attached to it, and the edges of the hat have gold trimming. Each side has another cross on it (either maltese or templar). These crosses attach a strip of leather to to the front and sides of the hat. This textile would have been worn in the late 19th and early 20th century.
