This textile is a black hat that was originally a part of a masonic uniform. It is circular with a small leather brim. The front of the hat has a red and gold passion cross attached to it, and the bottom and top of the hat have gold trimming. There is a golden cord fastened to the bottom front and sides of the hat by circular pins. This textile would have been worn in the late 19th and early 20th century.
