Margaret Murphy owned a boarding house on 21 Bradford St., Lawrence, Massachusetts where her and her family and other boarders would live. The picture shows her family. From the top left: Leo Murphy, a postal worker in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Jeremiah "Jerry" Murphy, a physical education teacher in Lawrence Public Schools, Margaret Murphy, who worked at the Lawrence Gas Company for many years, and lastly Dan Murphy, the Captain of the Massachusetts State Police Department. Depicted in the photo, Jeremiah and Dan were both dressed in their uniforms for their attendance as St. Mary's school Cadets. In the second row from the left: Jack, or John Murphy who worked for the police department before moving away from the family to Long Island, new York. Next is Mrs. Margaret Murphy, who owned the boarding house. She was left a widow right before Christmas by Mortimer Murphy around 1919, or 1920 by a trolley accident. To the right of Mrs. Margaret is an unnamed woman. To the right of the unnamed woman is Patrick McAulife. Patrick McAulife was not the son of Ms. Margaret and presumably was boarding at the house. He worked in a paper mill. In the bottom from the left: Helen Murphy. Helen Murphy was a mill worker for many years. To her left and being held by Mrs. Margaret is Veronica Murphy. Veronica was the vice president of the Arlington trust Company for many years. Veronica would be last living in the photo before her passing on December 17th, 1955 in Lawrence Massachusetts. Next to Veronica is Nora Murphy fom Sister Marie Bernadette's, S.N.D.
