The articles cover a variety of issues pertaining to the City of Lawrence with a focus on topics such as the local planning for the country's Bicentennial celebration, preserving the Lawrence Library building and what to do with the Senior Center building on Haverhill Street. An article concerning a 400 volume collection donated at the end of the twentieth century by then Lawrence head librarian Frederick H. Hedge, Jr. to the Lawrence Library and its current day need of preservation is of interest. A clipping regarding a one man performance by actor Josh Burton, titled "Sons of Liberty", sponsored by the Lawrence Bicentennial Commission and the Lawrence Historical Society is included. Many of the clippings pertain to the Lawrence Historical Society and its' officers including Ignatius Piscitello and Phyllis Tyler. Articles of interest report on the debate as to whether the North Canal should be covered to make way for a connector linking downtown Lawrence to the interstate highway. There are also announcements for a reading by Dr. Donald B. Cole from his book "Immigrant City" and a schedule of upcoming lectures presented by the White Fund for the 1974-1975 season.
