In the background there is a young girl in a white shawl who is portraying Teoli. During the ceremony she recited the testimony Teoli gave in front of Congress after the Bread & Roses Strike of 1912. Although not pictured, Mayor LeFebre wrote on the back of the photograph that singers Peter, Paul, and Mary were at the ceremony as well. He also wrote that it was an emotional event and many people cried. The dedication took place on April 27, 1980.
