This is a large, orange award ribbon for taking first place in the competition for the best collection of African Violets with three registered different named varieties. In the center of the top portion of the ribbon, in gold lettering, is the seal of the African Violet Society of America, Inc. which it says was organized in 1946. On the back there is a tag saying the award was given to Josephine Freni in May of 1977 at the Merrimack Valley African Violet Show.
