This postcard consists of a painting of the 1912 Bread and Roses Strike. It was painted by Ralph Fasanella. The back of the postcard reads:
"Lawrence 1912: The Bread and Roses Strike. Painting by Ralph Fasanella, famous for his colorful images of the American working class. Fasanella's interest in the history of the U.S. labor movement attracted him to Lawrence, Mass., where the Great Textile Strike of 1912 had taken place. Here he painted for several years people, place, and events. A grateful city and U.S. Congress designated May 18, 1987, as Ralph Fasanella Day."
