This textile is a large flour bag which was intended to carry flour to Palestine through the efforts of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which was founded in the late 1940s. One side of the bag says "TA No. 3609, Enriched Flour Unbleached, Donated By the People of the United States of America, Not to be Sold or Exhcanged, Contract NO. MP (FF) 10958, Net Weight 100 LBS., Use No Hooks, UNRWA." This side of the bag also has American symbols as well as the image of two hands shaking. The opposite side of the bag has Arabic writing with the same images.
