The purpose of this book is to study the Wobblies in a variety of ways in recognition of the 100th anniversary (2005) of the IWW. The two editors, Paul Buhle and Nichole Schulman, have compiled a variety of scholars and artists to write on the subject. The book is divided into six sections—"One: Early Days", "Two: Lawrence and Paterson", "Three: Wobblies Far and Wide", "Four: Repression, Martyrdom, General Strikes", "Five: Beyond Martyrdom", and "Six: The IWW Lives!".
