The 1912 strike of textile workers in Lawrence, Massachusetts, was remarkable for the spirited solidarity among immigrant workers and women. But the massive demonstration escalated quickly and led to a congressional investigation. Jim Beauchesne, Chairman of the Bread and Roses Heritage Committee, examines the importance of this watershed event in American labor history.
