LHC Courtyard Concert
Lawrence History Center held a summer concert in the courtyard on July 15 - the weather was lovely - and the music was linked to the A New Deal for Lawrence exhibit - telling the story of the Great Depression.
Musician John Root played his selections of the The Golden Years - Diverse repertoire of classics from America's Song book composed during the 1920's and the 1930's.
With the help of the Lawrence Heritage State Park and LHC volunteers the courtyard was turned into a summer venue.
Guests brought light suppers and relaxed under the tents to enjoy and sing along with the music.
Emily Levine, curator of the New Deal Exhibit, shared the story of the exhibit with the audience.
Please don't miss the complete A New Deal for Lawrence exhibit at the Lawrence State Park, 1 Jackson Street, Lawrence 3rd floor for the remainder of the summer!
Funded in part by the Lawrence Cultural Council and the Rosman Family Fund/ ECCF.
