This book contains the transcripts from these hearings. It is formatted in 'conversation' format - the words of each responder are presented, and identified with their name.
It was presented that he 'strike in Lawrence is a rebellion of the wage-working class against unbearable conditions." The book contains the results of hearings in Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Rochester New York, Columbus Ohio, Madison WI, Grand Rapids Michigan Illinois, Hackensack New Jersey, and many other cities/states reporting their disapproval of authorities of Lawrence, Massachusetts in not allowing the children of striking mill workers to be moved to other states for their protection. The remainder of the book contains the testimony during these hearings: beating of children, treatment of teen workers, treatment of the strikers. The book ends with establishment of an investigation into the business practices of the American Woolen Corporation
