This book tells the story of the Merrimack River, commencing at its source in Franklin NH and follows its nearly 260 mile course through to the Atlantic Ocean. The inside cover bears a label which reads in part "Portland Bethel Library...".The flyleaf page bears a signature "Mr. T. F. Simpson". The next page has a written note which reads "Mr. Norcross with reference of ? Hull/see page 285". An attached "Map of the Merrimack Valley" published by BB Russell of Cornhill in Boston, 1868 has been removed to the Map Collection.
