Summary: The narrator is the sister of Fr. Jorge Reyes (SEE ALSO OH 693-694). The family left Cuba in 1969, when Ana was five. She remembers being afraid of the government people who came to inventory the contents of the house after the family got permission o go to Mexico. Their possessions were to be left behind. Her tricycle was hidden from them. She had a difficult adjustment when she came to the United States, including not knowing English. Often she tried to run away. Eventually she became a successful woman and came to this area because of her brother's assignment at St. Mary's Church.
