This book is a selection of the author's stories which were chosen to reflect the author's life. Maupassant was born not far from Dieppe and was a child in Normandy, he died in Paris on July 6, 1893. This book was edited by Murray Peabody Brush, Ph.D., a Professor of French at Johns Hopkins University. There are many handwritten notes on pages by the owner of this book.
