Subtitle
Immigrant Voices from a Mill City
This is a story of people and families who have left their native homelands and resettled in the Greater Lowell area. Some came from Southeast Asia, Liberia, Armenia and other places around the globe. It tells of their fears and struggles to make a new life in a strange country. One of the authors, Robert Forrant, is a member of the Board at the Lawrence History Center. He and his co-author, Christoph Strobel, interviewed these people to learn of their struggles and how they managed to assimilate into our society. Some have moved on to other communities while others have remained in Lowell.
