Comments: This tape gives a family history and also a good description of Jewish life in Lawrence. The narrator's father owned SHACK NEWS CO, and distributed newspapers; the racing papers were a major part of his business. The narrator's mother was the only Jewish student in her Andover High School class. The Jewish community has shifted to Andover over the later part of the twentieth century. The narrator went to Tufts and became an attorney.
