Title
Island of Hope, Island of Tears
This is a story told in their own words about the people who immigrated to America from many parts of the world. It tells of their many fears when they landed at Ellis Island. Were they going to be sent back because of an illness or infection? Were the men who questioned them on their arrival going to treat them in a humane way? Many had the spelling of their names changed when they couldn't spell it correctly.
