Summary: The narrator graduated in 1952 from the Assumption School in the last class to get out of the basement of the church. A new school was built on Park St. to take the place of the four-room school under the church. It was staffed by Dominican nuns. Lawrence St. was a kind of division for the Arlington District and the area east of it. The narrator had classmates and friends in both areas; she describes their fun after school, including sledding on Fern St. (blocked off) and at the Berkeley Home.
