Summary: This interview includes information about Mr. Messer's career as a teacher, President of the Teacher's Union. Reference is made to his father and grandfather who worked in the Arlington Mills during the Strike of 1912. His father was also in the militia guarding the mills at the time. His father's relatives were involved in the Charter of Methuen and are mentioned in Dorgan's History of Lawrence.
