Summary: A straight forward and clear account of Mrs. Mele's view of the homefront during WWII. She was a bride when her husband was drafted and she was pregnant when he left for overseas. She had many adjustments to make during the next 2 1/2 years. Her acceptance of her role, her courage, and loyalty are qualities that reveal themselves in this interview. Her description of her friends is a capsule of changes that were taking place nationwide, e.g. young widows, changes in residential location, etc.
