Summary: This tape recalls the "across the Spicket" neighborhood from the early 1940's until 1960. It describes the diverse ethnic character, the businesses, and the closeness of an area where people looked out for each other. He describes his adventures out of the neighborhood, going to school (St. Mary's), and to the movies. He lived in a "cold water flat" at 2 Eutaw St. He describes their ball games at the Hayden-Schofield Playstead and the street game of Kick the Can.
