This prayer book is very old and has the inscription on the inside front cover of "Great, great grandmother, 1869, Providence R.I. It is a Catholic prayer book and has prayers to be said at mass and before confession, Litany for the sick and the dead; also hymns and the epistles and gospels. In the middle of the book is a card showing the owner of the book had purchased a brick for the building of St. Patrick's Church on the corner of Salem and So. Broadway. The pastor was Fr. D.S. Healey and Rev. P.J. Sheedy, assistant pastor.
