Summary: The narrator's family all worked in the family store, Alfio DiPaola & Sons Poultry, at 117 Newbury St. The family members all had other jobs outside of the store also. They sold live chickens and also capons and turkeys for special occasions. Customers would have the live chicken processed - killed, gutted, and defeathered. The store also had eggs. The store ran from 1937-1958.
