Forced to leave their homeland by poverty and persecution many fled to their new homeland before World War I. Many of their countrymen suffered a great deal at the hands of the Turks. In this book, the author shows how differently the Armenians were treated in comparison to other immigrant groups from Southern and Eastern Europe. Of interest in the book is an analysis of the Armenian revolutionary parties in America. This book is "an important account of the Armenian American community, which is the largest Armenian community outside Soviet Armenia.
