This book tells the story of refugees based on the information collected by the author with the help of the New York City College research and sociology students. It talks about the immigrants that arrived to the United States during Hitler's time in power in Germany and how they lived in America. It also talks about the skills they brought to America, who they are, what they fled, the effects of oppression, their knowledge of America, their reaction to American life and how different it was for them, problems that were occurred due to marriages between immigrants and Native Americans, refugees at work, and their attempts to resettle and adjust throughout the country.
