This article presents the results of experimentation at the Water Experiment Station in Lawrence between 1887 and 1893. It includes descriptions of the experiments, general information about water impurities, methods of filtration, and the importance of filtration. This article was prepared for the International Engineering Congress of the Columbian Exposition in 1893.
