It also discusses the importance of manufacturing using water power, the costs and savings associated with using water power for manufacturing, the parts of the country which can take advantage of water power, and the state of manufacturing before the Civil War (especially as it relates to water power). The pamphlet contains a fold-out map of the United States showing where water power can be used.
