The Famine in North East Cork
This book sold out in ten weeks when it first appeared in November 1986, and is believed to be the first work to concentrate on a Poor Law Union during the terrible years of the Irish Famine (in this case the Fermoy Union whose workhouse was regarded by the authorities as being a model of its kind and certainly one of the best run in the country.
This book is long out of print and is NEVER to be de-accessioned or removed from the collection. We also have Garner's Curious Tales of North Cork in our collection and may be the only repository in the United States that holds it.
