Korean TV and the Summer History Camp

Prof. Lim speaks with Charlie Easley, a CDCS teacher

South Korean television under the direction of Professor Michael Lim came to the Lawrence Heritage State Park Friday, July 25, 2008 to film the final day of the History Is What You Are Doing Now summer camp.

The three week summer camp for students of the Community Day Charter School was developed and run by the Lawrence Community Day Charter School and the Lawrence History Center with funds from the Massachusetts Department of Education (DEA). Goals were to introduce the students to primary historic sources of the History Center, learn to do research, use technology and to produce a community service project. This summer's theme was the history of the charter schools' (Community Day Charter and the Lawrence Family Development Charter School) historic sites. The television crew filmed the students as they presented their final panels and powerpoint presentations to their faculty and families.
