On May 2, 2008 Barbara Brown, Lawrence History Center Director, and Pat Karl, retired head of the Lawrence Family Development Charter School and LHC Dengler History award winner, had the good fortune to meet the 2007 World Series MVP player Mike Lowell, third baseman for the Boston Red Sox. The event was hosted by Pedro Arce and the Veritas Bank to introduce Mike Lowell, all-star 3rd baseman of the Red Sox, as the bank's spokesman.
Lawrence has had a long history with famous baseball players such as Patsy Donovan but who would think the LHC and LFDCS would have the opportunity to have breakfast on the Merrimack with a World Series winner? See Veritas Bank website and article about the Lowell visit. See Mike Lowell MLB info.
