30th Anniversary Celebration of LHC!

June 12, 2008 the LHC celebrated the 30th Anniversary celebration of the Lawrence History Center ~ Immigrant City Archives. The reception, Dengler Awards and new exhibit, celebrating 30 Lawrence leaders from the past, present and the future, were held in the restored Essex Company Courtyard. This fundraiser for the Lawrence History Center helped us celebrate the continued success of Eartha Dengler's dream. Watch this web site as we post names of major sponsors, significant aspects of our collection, changes in the courtyard and new signs for the complex ~ you will not be disappointed! Very shortly images of the celebration will be posted here. In the near future, a web friendly version of the exhibits will also be posted on the site. The three exhibits include: Transforming Leadership ~Ten 2008 Dengler Award Winners - biographies and photographs of these individuals nominated by previous Dengler History Award winners ; Transforming Leadership in the Past & the 21st Century Connection - ten historic themes, symbolized by ten historic men and women identifying their contributions to Lawrence's transformation and how those transforming themes continue to today; Transforming Essex Street - Essex Company Compound; interpretive panels of the Essex Company workers & their transformation of the land, the river & the canals.
