The historic Turn Verein Hall was devastated by a fire on Sunday, January 13, 2008. On these pages we document the history of the hall, the German immigrants who built it and its uses over the years. It is a sad loss of an historic building which was used and loved by thousands over its history.
Help us complete the history. If you have memories, stories, photographs please send them to research@lawrencehistory.org and we will add them to these pages.

Turn Verein history and photographs
I love all the photographs. They make the organization come alive. It was more than a building lost to fire. Hopefully we'll be able to identify people in the various classes. Keep it coming. This is wonderful stuff!
Turn Verein Hall
I hope to see some great photographs in this "book" of the building in its glory days. These halls were common gathering places for German communities across the country.
